BJP calls for leaders to oppose special powers to Governor after bifurcation

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ch Vidya Sagar Rao on Friday called the leaders of the both Seemandhra and Telangana regions to oppose the special powers to the Governor.

Speaking at a press conference at his office, he wanted the leaders of both regions on a platform in opposing the issue and to do away with the provisions. He said that these would come into the way of tacking terrorist activities. He quoted that the intelligence inputs too have established that many terrorist links incidents had vital links with Hyderabad city. He said that the provision would be constitutionally invalid as the police and public order came under the State as per the seventh schedule of the constitution.

'None should think of returning back'

Assuring people of Seemandhra residing in Hyderabad, he assured that none should think of returning to their native places as they would continue to prosper here.

Demands white paper on projects

The BJP leader wanted the Chief Secretary to bring out a white paper in the wake of reports about the issuance of GOs sanctioning crores of rupees for various projects.
