April 18, 2014 - Hyderabad
BJP senior leader Prakash Javadekar said on Friday that the alliance with the TDP continues to hold good and there were no differences. He along with BJP senior Leader Venkaiah Naidu, BJP state president K Haribabu held talks with TDP leaders Sujana Chowdary and Ramamohana Rao.
Javadekar said that the BJP will contest in 4 Lok Sabha and 13 Assembly seats as was agreed. He said that they will withdraw from contesting in Ichapuram seat. Differences are quite common when alliance take place and such will have to be sorted out in a cordial atmosphere with mutual discussion. He expressed that the TDP-BJP will win in both the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
It may be recalled that the TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu said at an election meeting in Gajapatinagaram that the BJP is fielding weak candidates and will cost heavy. The statements created an uproar in the political circles over possible breaking of the alliance. He is also upset over the BJP ignoring Raghuram Krishnam Raju, a businessman considered close to him. Naidu wanted the national party to give him ticket for Narsapur Lok Sabha seat. Raju Thursday filed nominations from the same constituency as a candidate of both TDP and BJP and also as an independent.
