* Auditions for film dancers
Andhra Pradesh Film Dancers and dance Directors’ Association will open a branch office at Sagarnagar in Visakhapatnam. Audition for dancers for the candidates of North Andhra will be conducted. All the Enthusiastic persons who would like to work as dancers in films can attend the audition. The programme details will be announced soon. This was announced a new conference at the VJF Press Club on Thursday.

*74,000 bank accounts opened
Union Minister for Civil Aviation Pusapati Ananda Gajapathi Raju has launched Prime Minister Jan Dhan Scheme in Visakhapatnam by opening an account for a woman online. He said that several reforms were being brought in the education system as well by utilizing the advanced technologies. The government was also planning to introduce biometric attendance in all the schools in the State.

*Ganta Srinivasa Rao promises Rs.30 crore for Government Hospital
Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao has promised to develop the Government Hospital for Mental Care in Visakhapatnam with Rs.30 crore. During his visit to the Hospital on Thursday, the Minister expressed anger over the management for the lapses and sought a report from the Collector on various allegations being levelled against the hospital staff.

* Gold worth over Rs.39 lakhs seized
The customs officials on Wednesday seized 12 gold bars weighing 1.4 kg worth Rs.39 lakhs from a passenger on his arrival in the Air India International Flight from Dubai to Visakhapatnam via Hyderabad. The accused was identified as B Padmanabha Srinivasa Reddy. He boarded the flight at Hyderabad and reportedly received the 12 gold bars from an unknown person who was travelling in the same flight from Dubai to Visakhapatnam.

*MPs to meet ECoR authorities on September 2
MPs from Srikakulam, Viziangaram and Visakhapatnam districts falling under the jurisdiction of Waltair Division will be raising the pending issues at the meeting convened by the East Coast Railway zone authorities at Bhubaneswar on September 2. The meeting called by Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu who is also BJP State president on Saturday assumes significance in this back drop. He had called upon various organizations and individuals fighting against the injustice being done to Waltair Division to attend the meet and give their views so that they could be taken up at the zonal meet in Bhubaneswar.

Pratyush Sinha panel to meet on September 2
NEW DELHI: Pratyush Sinha committee convened a final meeting at Delhi on September 2 in the back drop of some AIS officers were unhappy over their allocation to State cadre. The meeting will look into the grievances and objections raised by the stakeholders and send the file for approval of the Prime Minster. Sources said that there are indications that the final allocations would be completed by September 10.

Mid-day meal scheme launched
KADAPA: Swami Tattwarupananda, President of Ramakrishna Math, Ulsoor, Bangalore launched the free mid-day meal programme in Si Vivekananda Vidya Nikietan school on Ramakrishna Mission Campus at Putlamapalle near Kadapa. Kadapa Mayor K Suresh Babu lauded the services of Ramakrishna Mission. Infosys Foundation, Bangalore has contributed Rs.1.50 crore as corpus fund for free mid-day meal programme.

TTD increases darshan quota to 11,000
TIRUMALA: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has increased the quota for special darshan to 11,000 at Tirumala. With the success of the new special darshan arrangement on Wednesday, TTD took the decision to increase the quota that may go up to 18,000 in the future. Five thousand tickets are sold through-darshan centres and 6,000 online. The new arrangement came into force on Thursday. 1,000 tickets will be sold online a day before the darshan, 2,500 tickets a week in advance and another 2,500 two weeks in advance. Tickets can be used on the 14th, 7th and second day of darshan.

*YSRCP forces postponement of question hour
Pandemonium marked the AP Assembly on Thursday leading to adjournment of the House for one and half hours. Trouble started as soon as the House assembled at 9am with the YSRCP members insisting the Speaker to take up an adjournment motion on loan waiver to Self Help Groups which he disallowed. The Legislative Affairs Minister Yanamala Ramakrishunudu said that the suspension renovation could be done if the members tendered an apology. The suspended members apologized and the Speaker revoked their suspension.

*Sivaramakrishnan Committee suggests three distinct regions
The Sivaramakrishnan Committee is in favour of the three distinct regions reportedly identified by it for Capital Zones are Vizag Sub-region, Rayalaseema Arc and the Kalahasti Spine.

*Chief Minister okays flyover design at Kanaka Durga temple:
The Chief Minster Nara Chandrababu Naidu has finalized the design of flyover at Kanaka Durga temple on Thursday. Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas said that the file will be sent to the Union Transport Minister in a couple of days. With this, 40,000 four wheelers passing through the narrow ghat road on the Hyderabad Machilipatnam national highway at Kanaka Durga Temple will be eased with the construction of a flyover.
