Kavuri Sambasiva Rao seeks loan waiver for oil palm
HYDERABAD: Former Union Minister and BJP leader Kavuri Sambasiva Rao highlighted the need to bring oil palm under the coverage of loan waiver scheme. Speaking to a delegation of Andhra Pradesh Oil Palm Growers Welfare Association that met him and sought his support for extending loan waiver.

State Government seeks Rs.15,718 crore for PFA scheme
HYDERABAD: The State Government has requested the Centre to provide financial assistance rto the tune of Rs.15,718 crore over the next five years to partly meet the expenditure of its major initiative to provide round the clock Power for All (PFA).

AP to write once again to RBI on loan waiver
HYDERABAD: The Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao will be writing to Reserve Bank of India on August 25 the request of the State Government to reschedule crop loans in 575 mandals that were affected by natural calamities in 2013. RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan has convened a meeting with the Chief Secretaries of all States on August 25 to discuss various banking related issues. Separate time has been sought to discuss the please of the State Government.

Rs.1,000 crore income through sand reaches
HYDERABAD: Minister for women and Child Welfare P.Sujata in response to a question said that there are only 10 sand reaches in the State and the government is planning to write for another 83 to the Centre. She said that the government expects Rs.1,000 crore income through sand mining.

YSRCP members stage walk out from Assembly
HYDERABAD: YSRCP MLAs on Saturday staged walkout from the Assembly saying that they do not have freedom of speech in the Assembly. Later they staged protests at Gandhi Statue at the Assembly premises tying black ribbons around mouth. They alleged that the Speaker who is supposed to act impartially is acting as that of TDP MLA. They said that the TDP MLAs who used unparliamentarily language for 19 times which went deaf to the Speaker. The members said that YSRCP activists numbering to 14 were killed and demanded an inquiry into their deaths. Jagan Mohan Reddy wanted stringent action against those responsible. Jagan said that even after the death of Paritala Ravi that lapsed ten ago and the court awarded punishment to those responsible, the issue is still being dealt in the Assembly. He said that Chandrababu Naidu know pretty well that the party men allegations are not correct, the party president has allotted ticket to JC brothers.

Chandrababu Naidu deceived unemployees
HYDERABAD: YSRCP MLAs said that the TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu has deceived the unemployees and in their election manifesto, they said Rs.2,000 unemployment allowance would be given. But, they announced in the Assembly as Rs.1,000 and the implementation date was not clear, they said.

Eligible unemployees will get Rs.1,000pm allowance
HYDERABAD: In response to a question posed by YSRCP MLAs, the minister for Finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the government is committed to pay Rs.1000pm allowance to all eligible unemployees after the budget is passed. He said that efforts are being made to create employment both in private and public sectors. He said that appointment would be taken up through APPSC.

Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu birthday celebrations on a grand scale
HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh State Government is organizing the 140th birthday celebrations of Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu. The Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday garlanded the statue of Prakasam Pantulu opposite to Assembly and paid tributes.

Hyderabad High Court gives no relief to Engineering Colleges
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad High Court on Saturday has not granted any relief to the unaided private engineering colleges barred form EAMCET 2014 counselling in Telangana State. The court is expected pronounce its judgment on Monday to decide the fate of these colleges having more than a lakh seats strength.

‘Speaker favoring TDP’, alleges YSRCP
HYDERABAD: YSRCP MLAs on Sunday alleged that the Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao was being biased towards the TDP. MLAs K Rajanna Dora and K Sanjeeviah said that the Assembly proceedings are being conducted in one-sided manner with the Chair siding with treasury benches and denying the mike to the main opposition. They said that the Speaker is behaving like a TDP MLA and keeps quite when the TDP members target their party leader. They said that he asked the Opposition party leader to withdraw remarks but kept silent when the Treasury members resort to baseless allegations’, they said.

HYDERABAD: ISW officials at a meeting of security audit held recently have decided to build barricades with a view to enhance security to the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. A multi- layered security with 20 foot high walls, electrified fence, rounds the clock security and high-end scanners to check vehicles will be back on the main thoroughfare outside the Chief Minister’s camp office at Begumpet.

Smruti Irani meets Chandrababu Naidu assures Central Support
HYDERABAD: The Union Minister for HRD Smriti Irani met AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday and discussed educational institutions the Centre had promised to the State as per AP State Reorganization Act 2014 and assured him of all possible support to the State in making it as an Educational Hub. The Union Minister reportedly told Chandrababu Naidu that the Central Government was thinking of reforming the education sector to improve the skills of the students. It will included digitization of examination hall tickets and revamping the present system of examinations.

VUDA to auction 57 plots
VISAKHAPTNAM: The Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority will conduct an open auction for allotment of 57 plots in layouts in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram areas. The auction would be held on September 6. Applications would be received online till September 5. The auction will be held for 11 plots in Sontayam, 11 to Madhurawada layout opposite the Haritha project, 9 in Cyber Valley Sector-I layout and three in Cyber Valley Sector-II in Madhurawada. Two plots in Adibhatla Nagar, 4 in Kurmaripalem layout, 9 in Kapuluppada Chilukuri joint venture layout, 3 plots in Kurmannapelam Town Centre layout , one each in Bheemili, Kurmannapelm, Phase V and Godavari Town ship joint venture layout at Narava and two old bits in Kanapaka Ayyannapeta layout in Viziangaram are also for sale.

Union Minister Nirmala laid foundation stone for IT Towers
VISAKHAPATNAM: The Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitaraman has laid foundation stone of the Information Technology Towers at Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone in Duvvada on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, she said that the Government would help the manufacturing business endeavors in getting more innovative for developing their market research capabilities. The Towers will be a built in an area of 1.09 square feet along with 30,000 square feet of disaster recovery areas. World class building of level four status with six floors, including one floor for plug and play facility will also be constructed.

Avanti launches Agriculture Engineering Course
VISAKHAPATNAM: Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology is offering new B.Tech Agricultural Engineering course from the current academic year at both of its campuses at Makavarapalem and nearTagarapuvlasa. The Agricultural Engineering course with 60 seats is being started with the approval of AICTE, Andhra Pradesh Government and the JNTU-Kakinada.

Arun Jaitley commissions warship INS Kamorta
VISAKHAPATNAM: Union Defence Minister Arun Jaitley commissioned India’s first indigenously build stealth Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette INS Kamorta at the Naval Dockyard on Saturday. The ship was built by the state-owned Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers in Kolkata and is the first vessel in the Navy whose weapon systems are manufactured in the country.

Logo of ‘Vysakhi Nrityotsav 2014’ launched
VISAKHAPATNAM: Union Minister of State for Commerce and industry Nirmala Sitharaman launched the logo of ‘Vysakhi Nrityotsav 2014- All India Classical Dance Festival-on Saturday. The four day festival will begin on September 11 at Kalabharati Auditorium.

AP open bridge championship-2014 begins
VISAKHAPATNAM: AP State Open Bridge Championship-2014 began at Ukkunagram Club on Saturday. Nearly 250 delegates are participating in the event and was inaugurated by RINL Director (Personnel) GBS Prasad. It is being organized by Ukkunagaram Club in association with the Visakhapatnam District Bridge Association and the AP State Bridge Association.
