Government decides to convert Welfare hostels as Gurukulas
MASULIPATNAM: Minister of BC Welfare and Excise Kollu Ravindra said that the State Government has decided to convert all the welfare hostels in the State as Gurukulas. He said that the rules have been relaxed to fill up the vacancies in the welfare hostels.
Number of Divisible posts stood at 67,083
The CR Kamalanathan Committee has announced that the divisible posts of combined Andhra Pradesh were 67,083 and of which 20,610 posts were vacant. The committee published the sanctioned cadre strength in the Secretariat and heads of Departments of the combi9ned Stated of Andhra Pradesh as on 1st June 2014. The State Advisory committee secretary PV Ramesh requested all the concerned to furnish comments, suggestions and objections if any to the Advisory committee before August 21, 2014 on the notification of the cadre strength.
Head Post offices to be open on August 17
HYDERABAD: All Head Post offices will open on Sunday (August 17) to accept examination fees for postman/mail guard posts, the Chief Postmaster General (AP Circle) said and added that it was taken keeping in view of holiday on August 19 for the household survey.
• Service awards to 78 staff presented
HPCL Visakha Refinery executive Director VVR Narasimhan hoisted the national flag on the Refinery premises and inspected a guard of honour form the CISF. He presented the service awards 78 employees who have completed 35/30/25 and 20 years of service in the corporation on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he stressed the importance of safety in the Refinery.
• RINL sets to achieve 50 per cent growth
The Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) Chairman and Managing Director P Madusudhana Rao hoisted the National Flag and inspected a guard of honour accorded by CISF jawans, Home Guards and School Children of Ukkunagaram at the Trishna on Friday. Addressing the employees and families, he said that RINL was all set to achieve a growth of 50 per cent in Hot Metal and 45 per cent in Liquid Steel and Saleable Steel production during the current financial year.
• Krishna Babu hoisted flag at VPT
Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman MT Krishna Babu unfurled the flag at the Diamond Jubilee Stadium and extended greetings to all. He inspected the parade and took salute form the CISF, Fire contingent of VPT and NCC cadets of Junior college. VPT has proposed to partner the State Government and the National Highways Authority of India in taking up the six-laning of NH 16 from Anakapalle to Aandapuram in a joint Venture, said MT Krishna Babu.
• Kidnappers’ sketches released: The One Town police have released the sketches of two persons who were allegedly involved in the kidnapping of a businessman M Jagganadha Rao on Friday based on the information given by the victim. Jagannadha Rao was kidnapped by three unknown persons on Monday morning when he boarded an auto rickshaw and was traced on the Beach Road in a semi-conscious state late on Tuesday night. The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs.10 lakh.
•Security guard dies as gun goes off: An armed security guard of a private security company died at Senkhvaniipalem on Thursday night when the gun in his possession reportedly went off. The deceased identified as A Ganeshwar Rao, an ex-serviceman and a resident of Burma colony, Kancharapalem.
• AUSDE entrance examination on August 24: Applications for appearing for the MBA and MCA entrance test of AU School of Distance Education will be accepted till August 18 and the test will be held on August 24, according to Director of AUSDE LS Sudhakara Babu. •Army recruitment Rally: An Army recruitment rally will be conducted at Indira Priyadarshini Stadium in Visakhapatnam from August 17 to 26 for all eligible male candidates of Srikakulam, Viziangaram, Visakhapatnam, East and West Godavari and Krishna Districts and the UT of Puduchery (Yanam).
Union Government will open 54 Kendriya Vidyalayas
NEW DLEHI: The Central Government will open 54 Kendriya Vidayalayas in the current academic year at an expected cost of Rs.927 crore. Kadapa, Guntur and East Godavari takes place in the list for the State of Andhra Pradesh.
India’s 1st Stamp on Google Doodle
NEW DELHI: Celebrating India’s 68th Independence Day, Google on Friday posted a doodle featuring Independent India’s first stamp. The blue colour stamp with the Tricolour is the doodle that comes up when you open Google’s India Homepage. The stamp that was issued on November 21, 1947 depicts the Indian flag with the slogan ‘Jai Hind’ on the top right hand corners. Priced at three and one half annas, the stamp was meant for foreign correspondence.
