VIJAYAWADA: World No.3 woman player and Grand Master Koneru Humpy entered the wedlock with Dasari Anvesh, Project Manager, Efftronics System Private Limited in Vijayawada on Wednesday. HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare department has proposed a budgetary allocation of Rs. 3,762 crore for SC Sub-Plan and Rs.1,172 crore for the ST Sub-plan for the year 2014-15. The Minister for Social Welfare R Kishore Babu who held a review2 meeting on Wednesday said that the efforts would be made to take the benefits of all the welfare programmes and schemes to SC/ST communities to all the beneficiaries.
HYDERABAD: The suspense for All India Services Officers is likely to end on August 16. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) after several rounds of talks had called for a meeting on Saturday to finalize the system for allotment of officers between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State.
RAJAHMUNDRY: One person Dasari Somaraju died when the Maruti car in which he was driving catches fire all off sudden when he dashed to a side wall in an effort to avoid direct dash. Sources said that the accident occurred duly leakage of gas that erupted following fiction. He died on the spot with severe burns.

Sexual assault case against Corporator
NELLORE: The Nellore police have registered a case of sexual assault on the Nellore 53 division corporator Ashok. A teacher complained the police stating that the accused has violated her on the night of 11th at a hotel. Based on the complaint, the police have booked a case against the corporator.

ANANTHAPURAM: APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy said on Wednesday that the party is against of adhoc State Capital and alleged that Chandrababu Naidu has a secret agenda in identifying Vijayawada as adhoc capital. He questioned why they are in a hurry for a adhoc capital even before submitting a report by Sivaramakrishnan Committee. He advised not to construct State capital in cultivable lands. ANANTAPUR: CPM State Secretary P Madhu expressed apprehension over the announcement of temporary capital for the State by Chief Minister. He expressed doubts over his announcement without what they want to give to Rayalaseema and Uttarandhra. He questioned the rationale in delay in implementing loan waiver while the counterpart Chandrasekhara Rao has already issued orders of loan wavier in Telangana State. VIJAYAWADA: YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday called on the family members of party leader Krishna Rao who was murdered. Jiah Khan Death-CPI files case
MUMBAI: The CBI on Wednesday registered a formal case to investigate actor Jiah Khan’s death, five weeks after the Bombay High Court handed over the case to the Agency. The court asked the CBI to investigate whether it was a case of suicide or homicidal death. It may be recalled that the actor was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her home at Juhu on June 3 last year.
Railways launches new IT initiatives
NEW DELHI: In a move to provide more hassle free services to the passengers, the Railway on Wednesday launched a series of new IT initiatives including a pan India smart card to enable the passengers to pay for the tickets as a pilot project. The Railways also launched next generation e-ticketing, freight e-demand system and freight e-deliversion system. The e-ticketing system will enhance the booking capacity to 7200 tickets per minute against 2000 tickets under the old system.
