GUNTUR: The General Manager of SC Railway Pradeep Kumar Srivastava has taken a decision to appoint gangman and trackmen at all its 688 Unmanned Level Crossings. The decision of the General Manager came in the back drop of the Nanded Passenger train – Kakatiya Techno School bus tragedy at Masipeta in Medak July 24. In a review meeting with the officials, he wanted the officials to post available gang men and trackmen to keep them at UMLs in all the six divisions. DIETCET-2014 ranks announced

ENC Fleet B team wins championship
VISAKHAPATNAM: Eastern Naval Command cross country championship 2014-15 was held at Naval Air Station Dega on Saturday. The race was flagged off by Commanding Officer INS Dega captain Shobhit Srivastava. The cross country championship for the year 2014-15 was won by the Fleet B Team and Fleet A Team was runners up.
Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu wants plan for Metro Rail for Andhra Pradesh
RAJAHMUNDRY: The Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, M Venkaiah Naidu has asked the Andhra Pradesh Government to come up with concrete plans on VGTM Metro Rail Project, Housing and other developmental programmes. He conveyed this to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Nadu at a meeting with him at Lake View Guest house on Saturday. The issue of granting special status to the State was reported discussed at the meeting.

Telangana State creates Higher Education Council
HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Government issued orders on Saturday creating Telangna State council of Higher Education (TSCHE), this effectively bifurcating the APSCHE. The council will come into effect from June 2, 2014.It will have one vice-chairman, while the Vice Chancellors of Osmania, Kakatiya, JNTU, Telangna, Mahatma Gandhi, Palamuru and Satavahana universities will be the ex-officio members.

KAKINADA: Minister for Endowments Manikyala Rao speaking to media on Saturday said that they would conduct ‘Godavari Pushkarams’ in 2015 which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the government is prepared to spend Rs.500 crores. He said that25,000 acres of lands belonging to endowments are in the private hands and the government would retrieve them. All the temple management committee chairman posts will be filled up, said Manikyala Rao.
AP Police force would be reorganized
HYDERABAD: AP Home Minister N Chinarajappa said that the police force in the State would be reorganized. New vehicles will be provided to the police in a phased manner. Rs.100 crore is being sanctioned for acquiring new vehicles in the first phase. New fire stations in 35 centres will be established in the State’, said the Home Minister.
