  • Election Commission directs to delete four scenes from LEGEND movie
    Media Certificate and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) that watched the movie LEGED acted by TDP Hindupur contestant Nandamuri Balakrishna had submitted a report to the State Election Commissioner Bhanwar Lal. The MCMC has recommended for deletion of four scenes temporarily following a complaint from YSRCP. Bhanwar Lal said that they served a notice to the producers to delete the four scenes temporarily.
  • Centre recommends dissolution of Assembly
    NEW DELHI: The Union Cabinet on Friday recommended dissolution of AP State Assembly and extension of President's rule beyond April 30. Andhra Pradesh was placed under Central rule on March 1 after the resignation of N Kiran Kumar Reddy in protest against division of the State. The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Minoan Sigh recommended to the President the dissolution of the Assembly and extension of Central rule following a report by AP Governor ESL Narasimhan.
  • Shoba Nagireddy given tearful farewell
    KURNOOL: Thousands of mourners bade tearful farewell to YSRCP MLA Shoba Nagireddy at her native Allagadda in Kurnool district on Friday. The mortal remains of Shoba Nagireddy who died in a ghastly road accident on Thursday was kept in the open area at her residence for public view. A sea of humanity took part in the funeral procession. Jagat Vikhyata Reddy son of Shoba Nagireddy lit the pyre.
  • TPCC decides to serve show cause notice to Palvai Goverdhan Reddy and Rajeswar
    HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) disciplinary action committee has decided to serve show cause notice to Rajya Sabha member Palvai Goverdhan Reddy and MLC K Rajeswar for their anti-party activities in the general elections. Palvai Goverdhan Reddy's daughter Palvai Sravanti is the rebel Congress candidate in Munugode constituency in Nalgonda that was allotted to CPI party on seat sharing. MLC Rajeswar was asked to explain for ignoring the directions of the party who continues to be in the fray in Jukkal SC reserved constituency in which Nizamabad as rebel candidate.
  • KVP Ramachandra Rao files petition in High Court
    Rajya Sabha member Dr.KVP Ramachandra Rao on Friday filed a petition in Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking stay of execution of the arrest on the basis of red-corner notice served by American Crime Bureau through Interpol.
  • Police denies permission to Hanumantha Rao
    HYDERABAD: Congress Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao was denied permission on the dais where AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi was addressing a public meeting. The verbal arguments with the police went on futile.

    HYDERABAD: Election Commission officials who watched the LEGEND movie acted by Hindupur TDP candidate Nandamuri Balakrishna directed the film makers to delete four scenes which found to be objectionable. It may be recalled that YSRCP leaders have lodged a complaint seeking screening of the movie as the lead actor is contesting in the current Assembly elections.

  • Ramaiah IIT test on April 27
    HYDERABAD: Ramaiah IIT institute convener Dr.Chukka Ramaiah said that the prestigious IIT Test being conducted every year will be held on April 27. He said that the test will be conducted from 9am to 1.15pm. 3575 boys and 1575 girls from Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Odisha and Karnataka apart from Andhra Pradesh are attending said a statement.
  • Red-corner notice received', says CID
    HYDERABAD: CID additional Director General T Krishna Prasad said that they have received a red-corner notice issued by Interpol sent by CBI against Rajya Sabha member Dr.KVP.Ramachandra Rao. He said that they are discussing it with legal experts.
  • JC brothers' sons absconding
    ANANTHAPUR: Anantapur MP candidate JC Diwakar Reddy's son Pavan Kumar Reddy and Tadiparti MLA candidate JC Prabhakar Reddy's son Asmith Reddy of TDP are absconding since Thursday following a non-bailable warrant was issued against them in connection with the attack on former TDP youth president K Murali. Junior Civil Judge court of Tadiparti issued a NBW against them following a direction from High Court in an attack in 2009 elections on Murali.
  • TDP contesting candidate Bilyanaik daughter kidnapped
    NALGONDA: TDP Devarakonda candidate Bilyanaik' daughter Harika was kidnapped. The contesting MLA candidate has lodged a complaint with Meerpet police station alleging that Congress party candidate had kidnapped his daughter. Harika is studying 8th standard.
  • BJP releases its manifesto for AP
    HYDERABAD: BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday at its party office release manifesto for residuary Andhra Pradesh. Speaking on the occasion, Venkaiah Naidu said that BJP will make Andhra Pradesh as a golden Andhra Pradesh. He promised that there will not any scarcity of water problem in the region and will evince special concentration on Polavaram project. Development of ports will be taken up said Naidu. BJP AP unit president K Hari Babu was present on the occasion.
  • CBI court orders enquiry into the assets of TRS chief KCR, Harish Rao and Congress leader Vijayashanti
    Dealing with a private petition filed by Balaji Vadhera, an advocate, CBI court on Friday ordered the Superintendent of Police of Central Bureau of Investigation to register an FIR. The court ordered the investigating agency to inquire into the assets of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao, Congress leader Vijaya shanti, TRS leader T Harish Rao. The petitioner alleged that these three leaders have accumulated huge assets illegally and wanted the court to give orders for a CBI enquiry.
  • Infotech Enterprises Ltd., registers a net profit of Rs.69.8 cr.
    Hyderabad headquartered Infotech Enterprises Limited registered a net profit of Rs. 69.8 crore, up by 28.8 per cent year on year, for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2014. The revenue of the company stood at Rs. 594.8 crore, up by 28.1 per cent year on year. For the financial year 2013-14, the company registered a profit of Rs. 266 crore, an increase of 15.1 per cent compared to last year.
  • AICC vice president Rahul to address at Warangal
    New Delhi: AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi will tour in Andhra Pradesh on Friday to campaign for Lok Sabha elections. After an election rally in Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh Jhansi Lok Sabha constituency in the morning, will move to Andhra Pradesh where he will address a meeting at Warangal. The will hold his third rally in the evening at LB Stadium in Hyderabad.

  • Police seize Rs.8 crore from a bus
    HYDERABAD: Police as part of their searches on Friday seized Rs.8 crore being transported in a bus coming from Bangalore to Hyderabad and taken five persons into custody.
  • Rebels continue to trouble BJP-TDP alliance
    HYDERABAD: The rumblings between the TDP and the BJP over the presence of rebels in the constituencies allotted to the BJP are continuing. The BJP has been demanding action against rebels who continued in the fray in Seemandhra region in violation of the alliance conditions. BJP spokesperson Sudheesh Rambhotla said rebels were contesting form Guntakal, Santanutalapadu and Kadapa seats that were allotted to BJP.
  • Unknown persons attacked the convoy of Wyra MLA Chandravathi at Tummalapalli in Konijarla mandal of Khammam district last night. They attacked the convoy with stones and eggs. Later they abused Chandravathi and injured her gunman. Chandravathi immediately filed a complaint at Konijarla police station. She claimed that CPI party workers attacked her and demanded action against them.
  • Two special trains are introduced between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam to handle the summer rush. The train from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam would start on April 30 at 11:05 pm. On return, it would start in Visakhapatnam on May 1 at 7:05 pm.
  • Two persons died when a train hit an auto which was crossing a railway crossing. The accident happened at Rayavaram in Markapuram mandal of Prakasam district.
