South Central Railway runs Sabarimala special trains
The South Central Railway (SCR) will run 132 Sabarimala Special trains from Hyderabad and other places to clear extra rush of passengers and pilgrims. The trains apart from Hyderabad will runs from Nizamabad, Kakinada Town, Narsapuram, Vijayawada, Machilipatnam, Siripurkagaznagar, Karimnagar, Aurangabad, Akola and Adilabad to Kollam and back from December 5 2014 to January 14, 2015.

Government gives recognition to 11 BPED college
Andhra Pradesh State Government has issued an order recognizing 11 colleges that are conducting courses for Bachelor of Physical Education. They are Sai Aditya Physical Education, Aditya College (Surampalem), Sri YVS Sri BRM College (Mukteswaram) in East Godavari, In Visakhapatnam, Sri Prakash (PL Puram), Prakasam district – Gonna College (Marripalem), Bharathi College (Kundulapuram), Krishna – Vikas, Vijaya College, Guntur- Dhanlakshmi College, (Muppalla), Kadapa – Narayanamma College (Mudukulavaripalle), Chitoor – Siddhartha College (Chintagunta).

Toll free number for SCs and STs
A Toll free number was created exclusively for the people of SCs and STs to submit their grievances to the Government directly. The number is 1800-425-1352 according to Minister Ravela Kishore Babu.

Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam special trains
The South Central Railway will run 8 AC premium superfast special trains between Secunderabad-Vizag. The special superfast express train will depart from Secunderabad on December 5, 12 19 and 26 at 11pm and arrive Visakhapatnam at 9.05am the next day and in its return direction, it will depart at Visakhapatnam on December 6, 13, 20 and 27 at 9.10pm.

State Government to waive crop loans of 31 lakh
The Andhra Pradesh State Government has decided to write off accounts of 31 lakh farmers in the first phase of the crop loans availed by them as part of loan waiver scheme. Minister for Agriculture, P Pulla Rao said on Monday and the government would implement the scheme after the return of the Chief Minister from Japan tour. On the remaining accounts of the farmers will be written off in the second phase, he said.

Speedy clearance for Japanese investors
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Monday while dispelling fears have announced speedy clearances would be given to investors. Chandrababu Naidu first interacted with Naoki Kobayashi, Managing Director and General Manger for Agricultural Machinery and Equipment Business, Yanmar company. In response to the apprehension to Nagamori, Chandrababu said that India has changed both at Central and State levels and it would be get better in a few years. Chandrababu extended invitation to Yanmar to explore opportunities in Andhra Pradesh and help the State in making agriculture profitable and sustainable.

Fee hike in 22 Engineering Colleges
Twenty two engineering colleges from Andhra Pradesh that were barred from revising their tuition fees have been allowed to amend their fee structure for B.E. and B.Tech course. Change in the fee ranges from Rs.500 to Rs.10,000 and it is different from one college to another.

VANPIC lands will be returned to farmers’, says Siddha Raghava Rao
Minster for Transport Sidda Raghava Rao said on Monday that the lands acquired form farmers for the Vadarevu, Nizampatnam Ports and Industrial Corridor (VANPIC) project would be given back to their owners. He said that the Cabinet Sub-committee on corruption that had recommended cancellation of the allotment and steps would be initiated for return of lands to farmers. He said that committee found large scale irregularities in land acquisition for the project in violation of rules by the then YSR government.

Gollapudi Maruthi Rao chosen for Loknayak Foundation Award
Writer and actor Gollapudi Maruthi Rao has been chosen for the Loknayak Foundation Award 2015 for his contribution to the Telugu cinema and literature. The Loknayak Foundation Trust president Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad said that the award would be presented to the actor at a function at Kalabharati Auditorium here on January 18, 2015.

The Departments of Physics and Computer Science of Dr.VS Krishna Government College are organizing a two day UGC national conference on Advanced functional materials and computer applications in materials technology (CAM-CAT-2014) from December 18. GVMC plans geo-tagging roads
Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is planning to geo-tag the roads for improving the maintenance of the roads. GVMC Commissioner M Janaki said that it is the responsibility of the contractor to maintain the roads for five years and for the this process to begin, GVMC is planning to geo-tag them.

Damage due to Hudhud puts to Rs.21,908 crore
District Collector Dr N Yuvaraj said on Monday that a report would on the damaged caused by Hudhud cyclone in three north coastal districts would be presented to the Central Team that is visiting today. The damage was put to Rs.21, 908 crores in four districts and Rs.9,857 crow would be sought for relief and rehabilitation programme and temporary restoration. Eight officials that are coming from Delhi would be touring these districts till November 28, he said.

Visakha Music festival to begin tomorrow
Visakha Music Academy will conduct its 45th annual festival of Music and Dance at Kalabharati auditorium in the city on November 26. During the week-long festival, Chennai based Carnatic vocalist OS Thyagaraja will be felicitated on December 1 with the prestigious title ‘Sangeeta Kala Saagara’ that carries a gold medal and a citation. Nadaswaram and Dolu exponents Gurivilli Appanna and Gurivilli Durga Rao will be honoured with Dwaram Venkata Swamy Naidu Puraskar. Vishnubhatla sisters V Sarasawati and V Krishnaveni will be honoured with MS Subbalakshmi Puraskar on November 27 and Kuchipudi Kala Kendram AB Balakondala Rao would be presented with Dr.Saraswati Memorial Puraskar on December 2.

Pharma Workers stage protest
SRIKAKULAM: Workers of Aurobindo Pharma Company of Pydibhimavaram village staged a protest at the district Collectorate on Monday seeking justice. They protested against the management of the company displaying placards and raising slogans against them. They alleged that the company has suspended many of them as they did not attend the duties during the Hudhud cyclone and submitted a memorandum to the District Collector.

Police set deadline for setting up of CCTVs
The City police have set a deadline of one month for establishments covered under the AP Public Safety (Measures) Enforcement Act 2013 to set up their own CCTV cameras and other safety and security equipment on their premises. Police Commissioner AB Venkateswara rao warned that non-compliance will result in an imposition of a fine of rs.5,000 to Rs.10,000 under the act. Any establishment visited by 100 customers or more comes under the provisions of this act and it is responsibili8ty of the shopkeeper to ensure safety of those visit his premises, said the Commissioner.

APJDOS agitation – Health minister warns of severe action
CHITOOR: The Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivasa Rao on Monday has asked the striking junior doctors to immediately call of their unlawful strike and cooperate with the government. He warned that the government would not hesitate to take stringent action against them if they failed to withdraw their agitation while reminding them of the court ruling on the issue.

Kakinada to host all India FIDE Chess Championship
KAKINADA: Kakinada is going to host the All India Open FIDE Rating Chess Championship for five days from December 17. Around 200 players from different States are expected to take part and the Lions Club Kakinada Elite has allocated Rs.1 lakh towards the prize money where as the entire event is estimated to cost nearly Rs.13 lakhs.
