Andhra Pradesh Government plans to abolish EAMCET

Andhra Pradesh Government is planning abolish EAMCET. The government will be appointing a committee within three days to study the pros and cons.

Sources said that the committee will submit a report within a week. The committee will be visiting Tamil Nadu on Monday to study the present system thereat.

Government plans to follow the admission process as is in Tamil Nadu state.The Government plans to introduce admission procedure based on intermediate marks.

Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Friday said that the State Government is thinking of doing away with the traditional EAMCET based admissions into engineering and medical streams.

Speaking to media at Kadiri, Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the government would soon depute a team of officers to Tamil Nadu to study the process there to enable the government to introduce the same in the State. The team will be formed during this week.

The HRD minister said that the admission process there in Tamil Nadu is intermediate based while in the State, the admission is primarily held on the ranks obtained in EAMCET along with weightage in intermediate marks
