AP Assembly takes up voting on Chief Minister's reject motion

AP Assembly on Thursday adjourned twice before taking up the 'reject motion' notice given by the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on the AP State Reorganization Bill 2013.

Important phase has gone in the division issue, said AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh.

The legislators from Telangana wanted the speaker to reject the notice given by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for moving a resolution to reject the bill, their counterparts from Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra (Seemandhra) demanded that voting be conducted immediately on the bill.

The Speaker Nadendla Manohar announced having admitted the reject motion and conducted voting. Giving no scope for any untoward incidents, he asked the members to say yes or no and announced having the motion won in the Assembly. He immediately after announcing the same said that he was returning the opinion to the President of India as was desired. He announced that the Assembly has been adjourned sine die.
