36 Lok Sabha candidates contesting from Seemandhra had criminal track record

Nearly 36 contesting candidates for Lok Sabha from Seemandhra who filed nominations have serious criminal cases like of murder, attempt to murder and crimes against women while 57 are facing criminal charges.

Out of 25 constituencies, 12 constituencies have three or more candidates with crime records with a five per cent increase over last general e4lections according to an analysis that gone through the affidavits of 328 candidates. It said that 7 of the 21 candidates filed by TDP booked for different criminal case and 10 candidates of the YSRCP, out of its 25 nominees are facing criminal cases. Three of the candidates of the Congress and one candidate of BJP are also facing criminal charges. It said that none of them have been convicted in these cases.

Vangala Sreenivasa Reddy, an independent candidate from the Nandyal constituency, has a murder case registered against him.  Four other candidates including Lakshmi Reddy Putta (AIFB) from Kadapa constituency, Mekala Hanumantha Rao Yadav (BSP) from Narasaraopet constituency, Vangala Sreenivasa Reddy (IND) from Nandyal constituency and Undru Gani Raju (IND) from the Amalapuram constituency have declared a charge related to attempt to murder against themselves. YSRCP Kadapa candidate Avinash Reddy has one criminal case u/s 12 IPC including criminal intimidation and rioting charges.
