Attorney General Goolamhussein E. Vahanavati died of heart attack

The 13th Attorney General of India, G Vahanavati died here due to cardiac arrest.
Goolamhussein E. Vahanavati worked as Solicitor General of India during UPA I government during the period 2004-2009 and was made the 13th Attorney General of India.
He was the 13th Attorney General for India from 8th June 2009 to 28th May, 2014. He was preceded by Milon K Banerjee and succeeded by Mukul Rohatgi. He was Solicitor General of India and was in office between 27th June 2004 and 7th June 2009. He was Advocate General of Maharashtra and was in office between December 1999 to 19th June, 2004.
Vahanavati was born on 7th May 1949 in Mumbai, Maharastra and his spouse (s) Jumana Vahanavati (first wife, divorced) and children Essaji Vahanvati (from first marriage). He had his education from St.Xavier’s College, Mumbai, Government Law College, Mumbai.
Vahanavati entered into controversy immediately after the 2G Spectrum Scam in 2011 and the investigating agency CBI has given a clean chit. In late April 2013, a shadow was cast over his integrity along with other high functionaries within the Government of India for allegedly misrepresenting facts in Coal-gate scam.
