TDP demands probe in High Security Number Plates contract, alleges corruption

TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Friday demanded the State Government to order a probe into the alleged corruption took place in the High Security Number Plates contract. He wanted the State Government to stall the process. In a letter to the Chief Minister said it be implemented in a phased manner by 2015.
Chandrababu Naidu in his letter said that the comments of the then Managing Director of APSRTC and also a note by the then Chief Secretary were not taken into account before awarding the contract to a controversial consortium led by Utsav Safety Systems and Link Point infrastructure. He wanted that the entire transaction be probed by Anti-Corruption Bureau or Vigilance and Enforcement Department.
It may be recalled here that the High Security Number Plates (HSNP) have been made mandatory to all the new vehicles from December 11 initially beginning from Hyderabad.
