TDP chief criticises Prime Minister for denying appointment
December 3, 2013 - Hyderabad
TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday criticised Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for denying appointment to the party's delegation for submission of a memorandum on the injustice done to the State in allocation of Krishna water by Brijesh Kumar Tribunal.
Speaking to press in New Delhi, he wondered that if the issue of lakhs of farmers in al the 14 districts across the regions of the State being affected by Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal-II's award was not serious enough warranting a meeting with the Prime Minister. A delegation of TDP MPs led by Nama Nageswara Rao was arrested by police when they were marching towards Prime Minister's residence to protest against denial of appointment. Chandrababu u Naidu said that he wanted to highlight this injustice done to the State to the Prime Minister by taking a delegation of MPs and other representatives. But the Prime Minster chose not to meet the party's delegation and added that he (Prime Minister) spare time for those who were jailed for their involvement in scandals and looting of public wealth worth crores of rupees in an indirect reference to YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who got an appointment recently.
