T-TDP leaders and Lok Satta chief calls on President

A delegation of TDP leaders from Telangana led by MP Nama Nageswara Rao and E Dayakar Rao called on the President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday and requested him not to extend the deadline set for the debate on AP State Reorganization Bill 2013. In a representation to President, they wanted him to direct the Central Government to accord national project status to Pranahita-Chevella. They brought to him that the Centre should be asked to make amendments to some provisions in the draft bill that were against the interests of Telangana. Speaking to press, Dayakara Rao said that they had complained about the Chief Minister who was trying to create obstacles in the process.
Deputy speaker and IT minister urges not to extend date
Deputy Speaker Bhatti Vikramarka and IT Minster Ponnala Lakshmiah met the President on Sunday and urged him to expedite the Telangana process. Ponnala said that 'while they are not allow the debate on the Bill, Seemandhra leaders want the session to be extended after January 23 and said that he had requested him not to extend the deadline date, he said.
Lok Satta chief calls on
Lok Satta party president D Jayaprakash Narayan too called on the President and registered his dis-satisfaction as the way the Centre was hurriedly pushing through the process. He said that the Centre should be directed to evolve a consensus among the people bringing them to negotiation table and address their concerns. He said that the on-going process without involving the stakeholders is not in the interests and sprit of federalism, said Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan.
