State Government announces 'cashless health card' scheme to employees

As a Diwali gift to the employees, the State Government on Sunday announced 'cashless health card' scheme, the first of its kind in the country.
The scheme would extend free health services to nearly 14 lakh employees, pensioners and their family members and in all benefit a total of 70 lakh people said in a statement from CMO's office. It requires Rs.400 crore every year and sixty per cent of the amount will be borne by the Central Government while the rest from the State Government's contribution under 'pensioners' contribution. The scheme will cover nearly 1,885 procedures in both private and government hospitals all over the State. The employee health scheme card is a very enabling provision for easy and hassles treatment and will be reviewed for every six months. Aarogyasri Healthcare Trust will implement the Scheme. A steering committee headed by Chief Secretary will monitor the scheme from time to time. The main objective of the scheme is to provide healthcare to the state government employees, pensioners and their dependent family members through a cashless, seamless and transparent scheme.
