State Government invokes ESMA in Treasury, Pay and Accounts and related wings

In the back drop of the APNGOs and other departments gearing up to intensify their agitation for keeping the State united, the State Government on Saturday issued an order prohibiting strikes in Treasury, Pay and Accounts and works account wings with immediate effect for the next six months. It may be recalled that the APNGOs were in the strike from the midnight of August 12.
It issued a memo to all the departments on GO 177- no work, no pay-on August 8, it issued orders on August 12 for its implementation. Sources said that it also expected to bring revenue earning departments like commercial taxes also under the ESMA to ensure that the government revenue collection would not be hampered due to the strike. In the order issued today, Special Chief Secretary (Finance) Venkataramani Bhaskar said that Andhra Pradesh Treasuries and Accounts Subordinate Service, Andhra Pradesh Treasuries and Accounts State Service, Andhra Pradesh Pay and Accounts State Service and Andhra Pradesh Pay and Accounts Subordinate Service and Andhra Pradesh Works Accounts Service have been declared as Essential.
