'State Government to consider takeover of RTC', says Botcha Satyanarayana

Minister for Transport, Botcha Satyanarayana on Wednesday said that the request of the APSRTC employees' union seeking takeover by Government would be examined.
He said that after discussions with the Unions in the presence of the Managing Director AK Khan, he said that the proposal that had been put forth by the employees had been brought to the notice of the Chief Minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy. He said that he had asked for an experts' team to study the Government bus transport models in Karnataka and Tamil Naidu. Once we get a detailed report, we will consider what can be done', he said. He said that he had agreed in principle for a Government takeover of the Corporation and added that the ongoing strike against bifurcation and the request for takeover are two different things. On the issue of an end to the strike that entered 31st day on Wednesday, the Union leaders said that they would take a decision on September 16. The APNGOs Association and its constituents that are together on the strike in Seemandhra are expected to review the situation and chalk out future plans on how to take the struggle forward.
