Somireddy questions intent behind all-party meeting
November 4, 2013 - Hyderabad
Telugu Desam Party leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy questioned the intent of calling an all-party meeting with the Group of Ministers (GoM) on Telangana. When the decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh was already taken, there is no necessity to call an all-party meeting, he added. Chandramohan Reddy said that the TDP will not recognize the GoM formed on Telangana. The decision whether to attend the meeting would be taken after discussing with the party chief Chandrababu Naidu.
The Home Ministry has announced that the all-party meeting would be held on November 11 and 12. The ministry has already invited eight parties to the meeting including TDP and YSR Congress Party. The party would urge President Pranab Mukherjee to ensure that justice be done to people of both regions.
