Politicians root for Akbaruddin's arrest in alleged hate speech case

Several political leaders cutting party lines have demanded strict action against MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi for the alleged hate speech he made at Nirmal and Nizamabad last month. Politicians of the Congress party has questioned the government for the delay in action and warned that it might be perceived weak if no action is taken against the MLA.
Congress Rajya Sabha members Palvai Govardhan Reddy and V Hanumantha Rao have openly questioned the delay in filing a case against Akbaruddin Owaisi. Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu has criticized both the MIM and YSR Congress Party for making provocative speeches arousing communal feelings. BJP national leader Venkaiah Naidu said that inflammatory speeches could endanger communal amity. He also criticized the government for delaying taking action and said that law cannot be selective.
The Communist Party of India has slammed the MIM MLA for making such irresponsible communal statements. PCC general secretary G Niranjan demanded putting a ban on the CDs and other forms of communication circulating the speech of Akbaruddin.
