PCC chief writes for action against former Minister Diwakar Reddy


December 10, 2013 - Hyderabad

In the back drop of the comments of Tadipatri MLA and former minister JC Diwakar Reddy's comments on AICC president Sonia Gandhi to step down, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana had written a letter to the AICC to expel him for his anti-party activities.

Speaking to media on Tuesday], he said that Diwakar Reddy had demanded that the Gandhi make way for others in the wake of poor results in the four States an made her responsible for the party's debacle and predicted doom for the party. Botcha said that these remarks show him of his arrogance and wanted him to leave the party and join some other party.

The remarks of the former Minister drew flak from Telangana Congress leaders. Former Ministers P Shankar Rao and Damodar Reddy demanded the Congress leadership to expel him from the party while Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka aid that it showed feudal bent of mind.

Diwakar Reddy counters

Responding over the reaction of the PCC president, Diwakar Reddy sought to remind that Botcha Satyanarayana in spite of occupying the post of PCC president ship was a signatory to the resolution opposing the CWC's decision to bifurcate the State. He dared him to suspend all the MPs and MLAs from Telangana and other regions who had defied the party and staged protects in Delhi.

Digvijay remarks

AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh said that he would get information about the circumstances in which he made the comments and seek an explanation.
