- Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy said that his government will be able to stop the bifurcation of the State. The Chief Minister toured the cyclone hit areas on Sunday and later addressed a public meeting at Kaviti in Srikakulam. He however evaded questions regarding the bifurcation process at a press meet later.
- CPI(M) State Secretary BV Raghavulu has not ruled out entering into an alliance with CPI for the general elections next year. Speaking top media in Vikarabad, Raghavulu said that though there is a difference in opinion on certain issues, it would not come in the way of forging an alliance.
- Telugu Desam Party has dared YSR Congress Party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy to make an oath that he would not support the Congress party in elections next year. TDP MLA Payyavula Keshav said that the copies of oath should be distributed to every household. On the other hand, TDP will make an oath that the YSR Congress Party would support Congress, he said.
- A 60-year-old man was mauled to death by a bear in the wee hours of Sunday at Dornala in Ongole. He died while being taken to the government hospital.
