Non-bailable case booked against MP V Hanumantha Rao

Tirupati Urban Police on Sunday booked a case against senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha Member V Hanumantha Rao under section 153 and 153-A of the IPC.
Former TUDA Chairman Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy filed a complaint with the police that the MP from Telangana region had made a political speech at the sacred Tirumala hills in violation of the norms. In his complaint, he said that at a time when tensions are prevailing in this area due to the Seemandhra agitation, the honorable MP made a statement prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony between different regions and disturbing public tranquility.
He submitted his complaint to Superintendent of Police (Tirupati Urban).
