Nellore MLA Sridhara Krishna Reddy resigns in support of United Andhra

Nellore MLA Mungamuru Sridhara Krishna Reddy has tendered his resignation to the Assembly in support of United Andhra. He faxed his resignation letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar Reddy.
His decision to quit Assembly came after the Samaikyandhra Students' JAC attempted to lay siege to his residence. He told the JAC leaders that he is quitting the Assembly in favor of United Andhra Pradesh and immediately faxed his resignation letter. Students JAC convener Krishna Yadav and JAC leaders Tony and Jagan were among those who tried to lay siege to the MLA's residence.
Krishna Reddy is the second MLA to tender his resignation in support to United Andhra Pradesh. Anantapur MLA B Gurunatha Reddy tendered his resignation to the Assembly on January 20.
