- Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana left to Delhi today to discuss about the party's candidates for the MLC elections. The duo will meet leaders of the Congress high command today.
- The CBCID officials took Uppal Municipal Deputy Commissioner Amarayya into custody. Amarayya is facing allegations of committing irregularities in Yemmiganur municipality earlier. He served as the Municipal Commissioner of Yemmiganur between 2004 and 2007. The Lokayukta has directed the CID officials to file a case after they found evidence of misappropriation of funds. Amarayya along with four other commissioners are alleged to have gained Rs. 7.3 crores during that period.
- Members of Youth Congress formed a circle at Necklace Road to celebrate the International Women's Day. Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy attended the event. Speaking on the occasion, the Home Minister said that the Government is strengthening the protection to women in the State. Special reception counters will be available at police stations soon, she said.
- Applications for entrance into B.Ed course (EDCET 2013) will be accepted online from today onwards. The applications for the exam would be accepted online till April 22 without any fine. The entrance exam would be held on June 3 and the results would be announced on June 21. Applications can be obtained from AP Online and eSeva centres on payment of a fee of Rs. 150.
