  • Yesteryear film actress Raja Sulochana passed away at her residence in Chennai in the early hours today. She was 77. Sulochana has appeared in Pandava Vanavasam, Tata Manavadu, Santhi Nivasam, Jayabheri, Rajamakutam etc. in Telugu. She was battling with ill health for a while and breathed her final today. Her last rites would be performed tomorrow.
  • The State Cabinet would meet on 7th to discuss about the forthcoming budget session in the Assembly on the 13th. A number of issues including Dilsukhnagar twin bomb blasts, power crisis, lack of drinking water etc. are likely to rock the budget sessions.
  • The Mahasivaratri brahmotsavams at the Sri Kalahasti temple began today. The event will be celebrated for 13 days.
  • Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu has continued his padayatra in Krishna district till early hours in the morning. He resumed the padayatra from Kurumaddali in the evening yesterday and continued his yatra till 3am. Tollwood actor Nandamuri Balakrishna accompanied Chandrababu Naidu in the padayatra yesterday.
  • The Intermediate examinations would begin on Wednesday. All the arrangements for the conduct of the exams were already made. The final exam will be held on February 23.
