Three-day Jatiya Rythu Sammelanam in Guntur

A three day Jatiya Rythu Sammelanam will be organized in Guntur from December 18 to 20 by the Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangam in association with the CPI and All India Kisan Sabha.

Scientists in agricultural field, economists, public representatives an progressive farmers from across the country will participate in the meet and Minimum Support Price for various crops and the impact of multinational companies on agricultural sector will be discussed. The CPI district secretary M Nageswara Rao said that an agricultural exhibition arranged on December 17, debate on alternative crops would be held on 18 and Rythu Rakjshana Sabha would be organized on the next.

VIPS to attend

Member of Parliament and All India Kisan Sabha president Parpodh Panda, Swaminathan Commission Member and AIKS general secretary Atul Kumar Anjaan, former Price Commission chairman T. Haq, noted agricultural scientist Vandana Shiva, Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangam working president K. Ramakrishna and president Pasya Padma and others will attend the meeting.

The convener said that Minister for Agriculture Kanna Lakshminarayna will inaugurate the meeting. The resolutions passed at the three-day convention would be sent to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chief Ministers of all the State. He said that a 'Mahia Rythula Rastra Sadassu will be conducted in Guntur on December 13 wherein women farmers from various districts will participate, said Nageswararao.
