AP High Court directs Actors Mohan Babu and Brahmanandam to surrender Padma Sri
December 23, 2013 - Hyderabad
The AP High Court on Monday dealing with a petition filed by BJP leader Indrasena Reddy who alleged that the film actors Mohan Babu and Brahmanandam for misusing the Padmasri award conferred on them while issuing notices asked them to surrender the awards to the President of India.
It is alleged that they have violated the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court and the petitioner has quoted the clippings of the 'Denikaina Ready' movie clippings. The court felt that the actors did not honour the guidelines of Padma Sri Awards and misused them.
It may be recalled that the Government of India has conferred the awards to Mohan Babu in 2007 and to Brahmanandam in 2009. The court posted the case to next week.
