  • Former Minister P Shankar Rao who is currently undergoing treatment at Care hospital is suffering with high blood pressure. The hospital authorities has said that they are giving treatment to Shankar Rao in the ICU. The police took Shankar Rao into custody yesterday for questioning in the Greenfield lands case.
  • The hearing of the bail petition of MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi has been postponed to Monday. The judge has adjourned the case to February 4.
  • Former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhana Reddy has been produced before the Nampalli ACB court in connection to the cash for bail scam.
  • IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah welcomed the comments of the NCP president Sharad Pawar who supported the Telangana statehood. Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, Lakshmaiah said that the formation of Telangana state formation is in it's final phase. He also expressed regret over the handling of the arrest of former minister P Shankar Rao by the police.
  • Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar reiterated that there are no differences on the Telangana statehood issue between the Congress MPs of the region. He said that the resignation issue is irrelevant after the recent comments of Congress official spokesman Chacko. However, he said the Congress MPs are committed to resigning if the Centre doesn't allow the formation of Telangana state. He also made it clear that they would raise the Telangana statehood issue at the forthcoming budget sessions in the Parliament.
  • Pedapalli MP G Vivek has met with Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde in the morning. Vivek has apprised the home minister on the prevailing political situation in the state after the home minister's recent announcement that more time is required by the Centre to resolve the Telangana issue.
