Digvijay Singh speaks to the Press

Speaking to media on Friday at Gandhi Bhavan, AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh said on the time frame for sending the view to the Centre, said that the 'Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly will probably fix the schedule for discussion on the Bill on Monday.
Admitting that he had not seen the draft bill, Digvijay Singh said that it was thoroughly examined by the legal department before being forwarded to the President. Responding to the statements on Article 371(D), he said that the Centre will not do anything that is unconstitutional.
On Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy opposing the high command on the issue, he said that the central leadership is aware of his statements. Digvijay said that 'he had been given an opportunity to present his case before the CWC and he did it so effectively but the decision taken by the governing body, CWC, is final and everyone including the Chief Minister is bound by it,' he said.
The AICC general secretary said that YSRCP and TDP took a U turn on the issue after initially supporting the issue and this created a situation where unfound fears were being expressed that there was no consensus.
He reminded the TRS chief of his statements of merging his party with the Congress.
