  • Telangana Congress leaders want KWDT award in abeyance
    The Telangana Congress leaders have opposed the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal award and wanted its notification to be kept in abeyance till the bifurcation of the State was completed. Congress MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy said Justice Brijesh Kumar who headed the Tribunal ignored the recommendations of Bachawat Tribunal for protecting the interests of the Telangana region. He said that the award if implemented would cause immense loss to the famers in the region, he said.
  • Central Government cleared Rs.3 lakh core projects, says Rawat
    OP Rawat, Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, GoI speaking at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Institute of Public Enterprise in Hyderabad on Thursday said that the Union Government has given clearance for the pending projects in the public sector involving an investment of Rs.3 lakh crore. He said that the clearance of pending projects was done after several, rounds of consideration by the cabinet Committee on Investment. He said that Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Punjab accounted for 95 per cent of the total investment in the public sector, he added.
  • AICC confirms of issuance of notices to JC
    Suspense continues in the issuance of show cause notices to the former Minster and Tadipatri MLA JC Diwakar Reddy. It may be recalled that the AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh said that it has been issued and awaits his response. JC Diwakar Reddy reacting over this said that he did not receive any show cause notice from the party and clarified that he wanted Sonia Gandhi to step down and to give way for others in view of her condition, he justified. He said that though he wanted to stay in the Congress party, but a section of leaders wanted him to go. He added that it is painful for him to leave the party for he was in for more than three generations, he said.
  • KCR urges Jana Reddy to bring all Telangana MLAs on a platform
    The TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao met the Panchayat Raj Minster K Jana Reddy to bring all the Telangana Congress MLAs together in an effort to thwart the efforts of the Seemandhra leaders in the Assembly on the debate of T Bill. He who met Jana Reddy at the latter's and appear to have decided to call for an informal meeting of Telangana MLAs and MPs before the Assembly resumes on January 3 . Sources said that they wanted to mount pressure on the Centre to make necessary changes in the Bill . The MLAs from Telangana region would give their opinion the Bill in writing to the Speaker.
  • TDP chief appeals Government to do justice to the kin of the bus accident
    TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu in a letter to the Chief Minster N Kiran Kumar Reddy wanted him to do justice to the kin of the Palem Bus blaze. He said that it was unfortunate that the victims' family members had to knock at the doors of various Ministers and multiple government office for the last two months to seek justice. He said that a majority of those killed were the sole bread winners of the family and in a state of shock, he said.
  • 'Spoorthi' awards announced
    Bommidala Srikrishnamurty Foundation on Thursday in Hyderabad announced 'Spoorthi'-2013 awards to Prof.Kolakaluri Enoch in literature, Nannapaneni Mangadevi in education, Nekkanti Subbarao in agriculture and Dr.Madasi Venkaiah in social service. The awards carrying a cash prize of Rs.2 lakhs each would be presented at a function at Guntur on January 18, 2014
  • EAMCET 2014 on May 17, 2014
    The EAMCET will be held on May 17 and the notification would be given on February 10 and results will be announced on June 9.This was announced by APSCHE Chairman L Venugopal Reddy. He said that the last date may be altered depending on the schedule of General Elections. He said that JNTU Hyderabad will conduct the test and NV Ramana Rao will be the Convenor. ICET for MBA and MCA admissions will be held on May 23 and notification will be issued on February 14 and the test will be conducted on May 10, EdCET on June, 2, Lawcet on June 8, PGECET on May 26 and PECET on May 5.
