- OCTOPUs constable held on rape charge
Satish Ram, a constable of OCTOPUS has been detained by the police on Saturday on charge of raping a minor from Yousufguda area who committed suicide on Friday. The accuse befriended with the girl hiding the fact that he was married and led her to believe that he was in love with her and sexually exploited the girl, said police sources. Police registered a case against him basing on a complaint by the victim's family.

TRS party has demanded that the government take up debate on State's bifurcation in the Assembly on Monday itself as no other is important than formation of Telangana. TDP has given a notice of breach of privilege against AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh for interfering in the State Legislature. TDP MLAs B Gopalkrishna Reddy, G Muddukrishnam Naidu and Devineni Umamaheswara Rao submitted it to the Legislature secretary S Rajasadaram on Saturday. The remarks of Digvijay Singh that the Business Advisory Committee would meet on Monday to consider the timing for debate amounted to influencing the Assembly proceedings, they said. Gali Muddukrishnam Naidu said that the remarks of Digvijay are tantamount to dictating terms to the Legislature and this is an insult to the members, he said.
- TTD board meeting – approves construction of Rs.28 crore Venkateswara Temple at Banjara Hills
TTD chairman K Bapiraju said that the board has approved construction of Lord Venkateswara temple at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad with a budget outlay of Rs.28 crore including Rs4.70 crore for Maha Ganapati temple and Rs.9.20 crore for potu and creation of other amenities. He said that the board resolved to purchase 4.5 lakh cow ghee from Primere Agro foods private limited, Bareli at a whooping cost of Rs.12.63 crore and 4.4 kg of ravva from the Hyderabad based GMA Agro foods at a cost of Rs1.15 crore. He said that the board also approved a financial grant of R.5 crore of its sandalwood plantation projects at Tirumala.
- Interim relief to government employees in a week, says Finance Minister
The Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy speaking to media after the discussions between the employees associations and the Cabinet sub-committee on Saturday said that a final decision on interim relief will be announced in a week or ten days. TNGO Association led by Devi Prasad demanded 47 per cent interim relief while APNGOs by P Ashok Babu demanded 50 per cent IR and issuance of health cards after amending certain guidelines in the GO.
