Customs officials arrests three, recovers gold weighing 18 kgs at International Airport

Customs officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport arrested three persons who were alleged trying to smuggle gold in the wee hours of Friday. The three Hazi Mohammad, Ziauddin and Chokkalingam all hails from Tamil Nadu were arrested and produced in the court said the Customs Commissioner. He said that 18 kilos of gold bars value at Rs 5.4 crore. The arrested persons, all Singapore passport holders, were hiding the gold biscuits in trousers and shoes. Foreign currency of Rs 2.70 lakh was also seized from the arrested men, he added.
