CBI Court grants bail to Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy in DA case

With the granting of bail to YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday by Principal Special Court for CBI cases, the entire cadre of the party and family members were delighted and burst fire crackers and distribution sweets to each other was the scene at Nampalli court premises, party head offices and among the party activists in the State.
The party activists who thronged to the Lotus Pond the residence of the party leader was packed with activists who aired slogans in support of Jagan and danced. The Party honorary president Vijayamma who shouldered the responsibility of the party for all the 16 months was relieved a little bit with the granting of bail. Responding over the judgment, she said that all it because of God's mercy and with the blessings of the people and of his father and former Chief Minister Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Bharati, wife of Jagan said that God is very merciful. Once he comes out, he will carry the fight himself', She said she trembled when the very verdict was announced in the court. On a query of her expectation over the bail, she said that it was always' fifty fifty' and added that the lawyer said the same. She admitted that she was worried a little for the last four to five days due to a negative media hype. Party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu responding to the bail said that 'there are good moments for the party'
The investigating agency has stated to the court that it could not establish quid pro quo in the case of eight companies viz. Sandur Power, Carmel Asia, PVP business Ventures, Jubilee Media, Classic Realty and Brahmani Infratech, RR Global, Saraswati Power and Mantri Developers that named in the FIR. It also referred the matter of 16 'suitcase' companies named in the FIR to the Enforcement Directorate and the IT Department.
The Judge U Durga Prasad Rao said that 'The court has taken note of the possibility of the accused tampering with evidence during the trial stage since the investigation was complete according to CBI, but there is no demur about it'. The prosecution has not placed any material to show that there is a likelihood of the accused tampering with the evidence during the trial if granted bail, the judge felt. He said that on these grounds it was difficult to accept the contention of the CBI. The court directed that Jagan Mohan Reddy not to make any inducement, threat or promise, directly or indirectly to any person acquainted with the facts of the case, to execute a bond for Rs.2 lakh and two sureties each for like sum, not to leave Hyderabad without prior permission of the court and to appear before the court on the dates of hearing without fail.
