BJP demands to introduce a sub-plan for BCs
August 26, 2013 - Hyderabad
The BJP demanded the government to introduce a sub-plan exclusively for the backward classes to ensure support for effective utilization of the funds earmarked for them. The BJP State president G Kishan Reddy launched a two day dharna on Monday along with senior leader K Lakshman, Y Lakshminarayana and others in support of his demand. He said that artisans mainly those belonging to the BC communities were facing hardship in securing financial assistance to sustain their trade as banks were not coming forth to help them. He expressed concern that the inability of artisans to secure assistance or loans from the institutions resulted in rampant migration from villages to urban areas. AP BC Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah demanded the government to take steps to provide fifty per cent reservation to BCs.
