Winter session of Assembly, leaders pay rich tributes to Nelson Mandela

The winter session of the Assembly began on Thursday and paid rich tributes to South Africa's first black president Nelson Mandela and Bharat Ratna awardee who died last week. The house observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed leader. Various leaders of the political parties paid rich tributes.
As soon as the House met, TDP MLAs from Seemandhra region surrounded the Speaker's podium opposing the Centre's move to divide the State and raised slogans 'Jai Samaikyandhra' and demanded to take their adjournment motion over the issue. It is countered by TRS MLAs by raising slogans 'Jai Telangana'. YSRCP moved an adjournment motion for passing a resolution to urge the Centre to keep the State united and wanted the House to pass the resolution before the draft bill reaches the Assembly. The House after passing a resolution condoling the death of Nelson Mandela and adjourned the same to Friday.
