AP Rythu Sangham demands compensation for cyclone hit farmers

Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham has demanded that State Government pay compensation of Rs.50,000 an acre for farmers in Srikakulam who lost their horticultural crops including coconut due to Phailin cyclone. The Sangham wanted compensation of Rs.10,000 an acre for paddy and Rs.20,000 an acre for sugarcane farmers. Steps should be taken to waive the loans obtained by tenant farmers in the affected areas and wanted the Government to sanction interest free loans.
