'48 hours Tirupati Digbandhanam' underway

With the call for 48 hours Tirupati Digbandhanam, normal life was thrown out of gear in the temple town on the first day of the programme given by various JACs seeking the State united on Wednesday.
Shops and establishments were shuttered down and major thoroughfares woke a deserted look. Agitators blocked the incoming and outgoing vehicles into the city by placing barricades on the arterial routes. PCC joint secretary P Naveen Kumar Reddy urged the Samaikyandhra protesters to conduct their agitation in a 'Gandhian way'. He also cautioned the JAC leaders on anti-social elements who have been causing inconvenience to the people in the mask of the Samaikyandhra movement. The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi condemned the indifferent attitude of the UPA Government on the ongoing Samaikyandhra agitation. State vice-president N Chakrapani said the government is whiling away time by forming different committees with the intention of covering the loss accrued during the protests by heaving taking the people. Tirupati Urban Development Authority who are on mass leave till the end of month took out a bike rally from their office covering all important junctions.
Sadbhavana Santhi Rally on Friday
For the first time, the archakas and Vedaparaynadars working in the service of Lord Venkateswara will go on mass leave and joint the Sadbhavana Santhi Rally to be taken out on Friday by TTD employees as part of ongoing agitation.
