Vayalar Ravi rules out the change of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy


November 6, 2012 - Hyderabad

In an informal chat with the media persons on Tuesday in New Delhi, AICC emissary Vayalar Ravi put an end to the rumors of change of state leadership said saying that the Congress high command was not thinking of changing the Chief Minister till the next general elections. He said that there is no discussion as such on the issue and that Kiran Kumar Reddy will lead the party in 2014 general elections.

Detractors and supporters swing into action

As the detractors of Kiran Kumar Reddy continued their campaign for his ouster, the supporters swung into action and as many as 22 MLAs led by Lakshma Reddy met the top leaders including AICC president Sonia Gandhi seeking his continuation.

The meeting of National Disaster Management Authority vice-chairman Marri Sashidar Reddy who met the AICC president Sonia Gandhi for over twenty minutes triggered speculation of replacing the PCC president. The appeal against change of guard has drawn flak from not only the Telangana protagonists but also from the Congress MPs and MLAs from the region.
