  • Union Minister, AICC general secretary and in-charge of AP Congress affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad reachesd Hyderabad on Sunday on a two-day visit. He will meet the party leaders at the Lake View Guest House and will attend the marriage of former Minister Shabbir Ali's daughter. On Monday, he will participate at a function at Pochampalli in Nalgonda district organized by Global Peace Foundation and in the afternoon he will convene a media conference at Gandhi Bhavan.
  • Former minister and senior Congress leader Uppununthala Purushotham Reddy joined the YSR Congress Party at Raigir, Bhongir on Sunday in the presence of senior YSR CP leader YV Subba Reddy.
  • The In-charge Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy told reporters on Sunday that the case of KA Paul is being handed over to CBCID. He said that all security arrangements have been made to maintain the law and order situation in view of 'Telangana March' scheduled to on September 30, 2012.
  • The ISRO on Sunday successfully launched it's 100th mission. After 51 hours countdown, the operation took place as scheduled without any problems say ISRO scientist. The Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is the distinguished guest who witnessed the entire launching ceremony.
  • On the occasion of 11th anniversary celebrations, the Kopparapu Kavula Kala Peetham presented an award to the noted film director K Viswanath in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. The Minister for Infrastructure, Ports & Airports Ganta Srinivasa Rao along with Sadguru Sivananda Murty of Bhimili presented him the puraskar. Responding to the felicitation, Viswanath profusely thanked the organizers and commended their efforts in popularizing the works of legendary poet due Kopparapu Kavulu.
  • YSR Congress Party leaders Dharmana Krishna Das, Amarnath Reddy, Srikanth Reddy demanded the government to convene the Assembly session for atleast 30 days. They said that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has forgotten his role of an Opposition leader. On the proposed TDP's padayatra, they said that he is undertaking the yatra only to keep his party's' existence.
  • AICC General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the hospitals in Visakhapatnam, Kurnool will be developed at a cost of Rs.120 crores. He said that NIMS will be developed on par with AIIMS. Visiting the NIMS, he said with Rs.100 crore, Regional Para Medical Institute will be constructed at the NIMS.
  • East Zone DCP Gangadhar said that three persons were taken into custody by the police in the Dr. Harsha Reddy kidnap case. The arrested are Srinivasa Reddy, Seenayya and Durga Reddy. The police are searching for another two accused.
  • Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao met AICC General Secretary Azad at the Lake View Guest house and have given his explanation on the resignation that was submitted by him in the back drop of the CBI naming him as the 5th accused in Vanpic case.
