  • The Government is planning to fill up the vacant nominated posts in the State like Chairman, Board of Directors of Corporations etc. The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy directed the departments concerned to submit the list of vacancies within 48 hours. It is estimated that nearly 360 posts will be filled up soon.
  • Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha said that the judgment of the AP High Court on the filling of management quota seats will be challenged in the Supreme Court.
  • The police disrupted the hunger strike of MRP leader Manda Krishna Madiga. They forcibly shifted him to Yashoda Hospital following the deterioration of his health. It may be recalled here that he is under indefinite hunger strike demanding the government to solve the problems of Physically challenged persons.
  • The Hyderabad police have arrested Ganesh alias Anil, one of the accused in the murder of former Minister Paritala Ravi and prime accused in Patolla Govardhan Reddy murder case. The task force police have arrested him at Ramnagar when he is moving with armed weapons. The police seized a revolver from Ganesh.
  • Speaking to media after participating in the birthday celebration of the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Rayapati said that he will contest from the Congress party in the next general elections. He admitted that he aspired for the TTD Chairman's post.
  • Bus Yatra in Telangana
    In support of the proposed Telangana march scheduled on September 30, a bus yatra is being taken up in all the ten districts of the Telangana region from Gun Park in Hyderabad. A re-dedication day of the Sakala Janula Samme is also being observed today on the completion of a year since the people of the region staged a massive general strike.
  • In-charge DGP V Dinesh Reddy ordered an inquiry into the kidnap case of Police Transport Organization SP Lakshminarayna by PTO head constable Sharma. The SP was kidnapped yesterday for few hours and was released later. AGP Subba Rao will lead the inquiry.
  • Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam JEO told the media that Brahmotsavams of Sri Venkateswara Swamy that begins from September 18 to 26. All Arjitha sevas have been cancelled and all VIP break darshans and advance booking to cottages have been put on hold.
  • A case has been registered at the Panjagutta Police Station against movie actors Rajasekhar and Jeevitha. The case was booked in the rights issue of ‘Mahakali’ movie following a court order.
