Preparations under way at Kanaka Durga Temple for Dasara festival

District in-charge for Krishna district Minister Thota Narsimham, in a review meeting on Dasara Navratri festival, directed the officials to act in a coordinated manner to improve the facilities to the devotees. He asked the officials concerned to complete all the arrangements for the Navratri festival before October 14 as the celebrations would commence from October 16. All-round priority should be given to sanitation round the clock during the entire nine days of the festival.

Speaking about the arrangements, the minister said that drinking water should be supplied to devotees in the queue and medical facilities should be arranged. Vijayawada MLA Vellampalli Srinivas who was present at the meeting, urged the minister to conduct cultural programmes near the temple premises, for which the minister said that the District Collector and Commissioner of Police would finalize. District collector Budhaprakash M Jyothi, Joint Collector M. Ushakumari, Police Commissioner N. Madhusudhan Reddy, Temple Executive Officer M. Raghunath, RDO S. Venkata Rao and others were present.
