  • Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy lays foundation stone for hospital
    The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Monday laid foundation stone for a 50 bed Andhra Pradesh Vaidya Vidhana Parishad Hospital at Khairatabad in Hyderabad. He also laid the foundation stone for a community hall at Gowtham Nagar cross roads, Filmnagar. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said a slew of projects were being taken up to beautify the city and said that with a resolve to solve the drinking water problem, 10 tmc of Godavari water and 5.5 tmc of Krishna water would be brought to the city.
  • Police arrests three pseudo-naxals
    The police on Monday arrested three pseudo-naxalite on the outskirts of Yellendu on a tip off. The arrested A Krishna, Veerabhadram and Vinay Kumar when they were waiting for an auto rickshaw at Mamidigundala crossroads. The police recovered a country made gun and four blank letter heads of printed in the name of CPI (ML) Jana Shakti from them.
  • BJP demands action on the producer and director on the movie ' A woman in Brahmanism
    The BJP has demanded booking of a criminal cases against the producer and the director of the film 'A Woman in Brahmanism' and cancellation of the certificate issued for its screening. Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the BJP State president G Kishan Reddy said that it would stage protests in front of the residences of the Producer and the Director if no action is taken on them. He said that no one has the right to hurt the sentiments of the people.
  • Tirumala Cottage allotment simplified
    To bring more transparency in the allotment of cottages in Tirumala, the TTD has introduced 'Rest House allotment and Maintenance System' on an experimental basis in three of its major guest houses at Tirumala. Speaking to media, the Joint Executive Officer of the TTD KK Srinivasa Raju said that any one visiting can with ease, the availabili8ty of accommodation at the information kiosks specially set up in the three guest houses viz., Sannidhanam, Vaikuntam and Adiseshu. The system also enables by capturing their photos and finger prints supported with the credit card facility for the payment of the rent to the TTD, he said.
  • Woman dies of swine flu in Visakhapatnam
    A pregnant women died due to swine flu at the Government General Hospital for Chest and Communicable Diseases on Monday. Hospital sources said that the women hailing from Koonavaram was in the seventh month of pregnancy.
