  • BJP urges PM Manmohan Singh to stop open cast coal miningThe State unit president of Bharatiya Janata Party G Kishan Reddy, in an open letter to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, urging him to put a halt to the open cast mining by the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd. Kishan Reddy expressed concern over the indiscriminate manner in which the forests, rivers and other natural resources were being exploited in the name of coal mining in the districts of Adilabad, Warangal, Karimnagar and Khammam districts.
  • Congress membership drive from October 18, 2012
    The Congress party will launch its membership drive on October 18. The event will be launched with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha and former PCC presidents renewing their memberships. The PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana said that there would be enrollment of members for a tenure of five year and not three years as was done earlier.
  • Badwel MLA Kamalamma has met Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy at the Secretariat in Hyderabad. She urged the Chief Minister to direct the officials to allow Brahmamsagar water continuously till the crops get enough water near Badwel-Porumaamilla lakes.
  • MLA Nallala Odelu is staging an indefinite hunger strike demanding the employees of Singareni to be given a share of 25% from the profits of the organization. He is staging the protest in front of the Singareni general manager office at Mandamarri in Adilabad. MLAs Kaveti Samayya, Somarapu Satyanarayana and Gunda Mallesh announced their solidarity with the hunger strike.
  • APSMFC Scam- CID seeks seven days custody of for accused
    The CID has filed a petition in a local court seeking custody of four persons allegedly involved in the AP State Minority Finance Corporation scam. The petition was posted to Tuesday for hearing the arguments. The agency filed the petition at the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court seeking seven days of custody of Chunduri Venkata Koti Saikumar, Nanduri Venkata Raman, B Keshav Rao and a bank assistant manager Naveen Sagar. It may be recalled here that they were arrested for allegedly siphoning off Rs. 55.47 crores.
  • Mahindra Satyam enters into MoU with UPES
    Mahindra Satyam, a leading consulting and IT services provider has signed a memorandum of understanding with the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies of Dehradun. The MoU is aimed at facilitating joint research and development projects and consultancies for the benefit of the both.
  • Relatives of patients at Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer hospital staged demonstration against the new procedures of the Arogya Sri scheme. They protested that they are not getting treatment for the past five days.
