  • Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu campaigned in Macherla, Prathipadu constituencies of Guntur district. He met the party leaders in the district and staged several road shows in the district. He left to Guntur at 6am from Hyderabad.
  • Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu questioned Congress' claims of good governance, when they have Kiran and Botcha at the helm of affairs.
  • Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy will return to Hyderabad after concluding his three-day tour in Srikakulam and East Godavari districts.
  • Bandh is being observed in Srikakulam district against the Government's attitude towards setting up Thermal power plants in the district. Education and Business were severely affected by the bandh.
  • Director of Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department S Aruna Kumari said that 15 persons have died so far due to Swine Flu in the state. Speaking to media, she said that Swine Flu is detected in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Kurnool and Rangareddy districts only. They are taking utmost care in distributing the medicines, she said. 50,000 additional doses of injections will be distributed from tomorrow onwards.
  • Principal Secretary of Health and Medical department Ratna Kishore has launched a special portal today. The portal will help educate the people about the welfare programmes of the government.
  • Kurnool MLC SV Mohan Reddy has met Chairman of Legislative Council Chakrapani today to discuss about the disqualification issue against him. Mohan Reddy has reportedly asked for more time for his response on the petition. The Chief Whip of Congress Sivarami Reddy has not objected to his request. The petition will be reviewed again on 18th. Speaking to reporters later, Mohan Reddy said that he has not joined the YSR Congress Party. He said that it is on Congress to prove that he is working against the party's interests. He also criticized the leadership for not taking action against DL Ravindra Reddy and Shankar Rao though they are voicing their resentment directly in the media.
  • CPI National Secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy demanded that the presidential candidates who will be in the race should be agreeable to all. He participated in the CPI State Council meeting in Hyderabad today. Speaking on the occasion, Sudhakar Reddy admitted that there are some differences in opinion among the left parties, but they will be resolved soon.
