  • PCC President Botcha Satyanarayana will leave to New Delhi today. He will meet State Congress affairs in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad to discuss several issues including the PCC working committee, appointment of DCC presidents and presidential election.
  • YSR Congress Party honorary president YS Vijayamma has left to New Delhi to explain the harassment of the ruling party in the State to the leaders in New Delhi. A team comprising of MPs Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Sabbam Hari, MLAs Shobha Nagi Reddy, YV Subba Reddy and others accompanied Vijayamma. Vijayamma has already written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the issue.
  • Guru Poornima is celebrated in a grand way at Shirdi Saibaba temples across the state. Guru Poornima is an auspicious day and the devotees of Sai Baba believe that their wishes will come true if they offer prayers on this day.
  • The Tirupati-Mannargudi-Tirupati tri-weekly express was flagged off by Tirupati MP Chinta Mohan and Guntakul DRM DT Singh in Tirupati today. The train runs every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from Tirupati. It will go through Pakala, Chittoor, Veluru, Villapuram, Chidambaram to Mannargudi. The train bears the number 17407/17408. The train departs from Tirupati at 10:40 am and from Mannargudi at 05:30 am.
  • The Supreme Court has quashed the petition against Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu. It is known that a petition was filed against Naidu saying that he has cheated the people of Telangana.
  • The counseling for Teachers transfers will begin today. Counseling for Principals of schools will begin today. The counseling for the rest of categories will begin tomorrow.
  • A convict has escaped while being transferred to the Charlapalli jail in Hyderabad. The incident happened at the Charlapalli railway gate.
