  • UPA presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee reached Hyderabad. He came in a special flight from Chennai. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana and other Congress leaders gave him a grand welcome. Pranab later addressed the Congress Legislature Party meeting at Jubilee hall. He will leave to Bangalore in the afternoon.
  • Hundreds of villages staged protests on the national highway near the Nagarjuna Agrichem Plant which was destroyed in fire yesterday. They are demanding the closure of the plant and raised slogans against the management. They tried to prevent employees from entering the plant which resulted in a traffic jam for about 8 kms. Three were injured in the incident.
  • Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao will convene the Congress committee meeting again today to discuss about the results in the recent by-elections. Minister N Raghuveera Reddy will discuss about strengths and weakness of the government and the strategy to take the welfare programmes into the people.
  • YSR Congress Party honorary president YS Vijayamma has reached Visakhapatnam in the morning. She will console the victims of the NTPC Simhadri plant at Tikkavanipalem. Jagan's sister Sharmila accompanied Vijayamma.
  • The distance mode exam results for 10th and intermediate examinations were released by primary education minister Sailajanath in the morning. 63.29% of the students passed in the 10th exam, while 57.9% cleared the intermediate examination.
  • About 5000 party workers from Congress and Telugu Desam Parties have joined the YSR Congress Party in Puttaparthi constituency in the morning.
  • A software engineer aged 26 committed suicide in Mahabubnagar town due to love failure. The police filed a case and has started investigation.
