Former Minister BV Mohan Reddy passes away

Former Minister and senior Telugu Desam Party leader BV Mohan Reddy died in a private hospital in Hyderabad after a battle with prolonged illness. He was 67. Mohan Reddy was survived by a son. He was admitted to the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology in Hyderabad with serious liver-related ailments. Sources say that Mohan Reddy was suffering with Cancer and Jaundice. Mohan Reddy recently contested in the Yemmiganur constituency by-elections and lost.

Mohan Reddy, won the Yemmiganur constituency seat for five consecutive times between 1983 and 1999. He was a close associate of TDP founder NT Rama Rao.

Mohan Reddy served as a Minister in the cabinets of former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu. Several TDP leaders paid their respects to Mohan Reddy. His final rites would be performed on Saturday in his native town of Yemmiganur.
