Congress high command picks five MPs from the State to the Union Ministers

The Congress high command has selected five new MPs from the State to induct them into the Central Council of Ministers taking the figure to 10. Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi and Lok Sabha MPs Kotla Jayasuryaprakash Reddy (Kurnool), Sarvey Satyanarayana (Malkajgiri), Killi Krupa Rani (Srikakulam) and Proke Balaram Naik (Mahabubabad) have been officially informed about their proposed inclusion in the Ministers.

With this expansion, Andhra Pradesh will have a record number of 10 MPs in the Council of Ministers. The Andhra region will have six Ministers, Telangana three and Rayalaseema one. Party sources said that that the new faces were chosen after considering issues like caste equations, regional balance and local political conditions. Except Suryaprakash Reddy, all the four from the SC, ST and BC communities.

K Chiranjeevi

Born on 22 August, 1956, Chiranjeevi is a B.Com graduate and a film star by profession. He was elected to Rajya Sabha in 2011 and before his elevation to Rajya Sabha, he was a MLA representing Tirupati.

Kotla Jayasuryaprakash Reddy

Born on 18 September 1951, Jayasuryaprakash Reddy is a BA graduate and is an agriculturist by profession. He was representing form Kurnool and was elected in 1991, 2004 and 2009.

Sarvey Satyanarayana

Born on 4 April, 1954. Sarvey Satyanarayana is a BA. LLB. LL.M and was an advocate by profession. He is representing Malkanjgiri. He was elected in 2004 from Siddipet.

Killi Krupa Rani

Born on 15 November, 1965, Killi Krupa Rani is a MBBS graduate and was a doctor by profession. She is representing Srikakulam constituency and was elected in 2009.

Porike Balaram Naik

Born on 6 June, 1964, Balaram Naik studied up to MA and is a social worker. He is representing Mahabubabad constituency and was elected in 2009.
